About OSA

OSA is an Antwerp section of the UBA, the Royal Belgian Amateur Radio Union. Under the section callsign ON4OSA we bring together radio amateurs from the Antwerp region: from licensed operators and shortwave listeners to anyone fascinated by radio communication and technology.

Our history

Our section grew out of the CW operators of the legendary Antwerp coastal station OSA in 1935 — which is also where our section name comes from. That makes OSA one of the oldest UBA sections in the country. Those telegraphy roots still shape what we do today, from CW field days to the club station on board the lightship West-Hinder 3. The section now counts more than 50 members.

What we do

• Monthly meetings with talks, technical sessions and shared experience.
• On-air activity — contests, field days and special event stations.
• Homebrew & experimenting with antennas, receivers and digital modes.
• Guidance toward your license for anyone preparing for the HAREC exam and working toward their own callsign.
• QSL cards — UBA members who registered with section OSA receive their QSL cards through us. You can collect them at our monthly meeting, every first Thursday of the month.
